THE MADELEINE FOUNDATION`S "48 QUESTIONS" VIDEO PULLED FOLLOWING DEMANDS FROM CARTER RUCK
On 13th May 2010 we uploaded our video of our secretary, Tony Bennett, simply reading out the 48 questions that Dr. Kate McCann was asked by the Portuguese Police, but refused to answer.
Late on 15th July 2010 we received an e-mail from Steve Loughrey at Carter Ruck demanding that our "48 questions" You-Tube video be pulled immediately on the grounds that it was libelous.
The Madeleine Foundation absolutely denies that the You-Tube video is libelous. On the contrary, it is a factual account of the exact 48 questions that Dr. Kate McCann refused to answer. In addition, in the introduction to the video we told viewers the 2 reasons given by the McCanns for her refusing to answer the questions; (1) Her solicitor advising her of her right to remain silent, and (2) her belief that the police were suspecting her instead of looking for Madeleine. Our You-Tube video was pulled from You-Tube on Friday 16th July. The Madeleine Foundation is taking legal advice about whether this video can possibly be regarded as libellous.
